My prized possession 😍
I’ve wanted a piece of Christian art for the longest, but I have an aversion to anything that shows the face of Jesus because we aren’t certain on what He looked like. That makes me dislike 95% of Christian art. I had this idea in my head for a few months, but I’m not artistically inclined so I had no way of bringing my vision to fruition. I found this print at a store at the Ark Encounter. I literally cried when I saw it. It has a few extra details that I didn’t even think of, such as the hole in the hand and the keys which make this better than what I had even imagined. My favorite part is the folded up linen laying to the side. This is something the apostles would have noticed. In that time, the manner in which the master of the house laid their napkin at the table told the servants if the master was finished or not. If the master got up and haphazardly threw his napkin on the table, that indicated the master was finished and was not going to return to his seat. If the napkin was folded neatly, it meant that the master was not finished and would be returning. So much is communicated by the manner in which the linen was left in the tomb. Jesus is not finished, and He will be returning.
